What if I was previously registered for Everbridge?
If you were previously signed up for Everbridge, you have been automatically registered in WENS and signed up the warnings in the 24/7 category. If you would like to sign up for additional warnings, fill out this registration form to include the additional warnings you would like to receive. If you would like to remove notification selections, click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the page and unsubscribe from the system. Then re-register for the system selecting only the notifications you would like to receive.
How do the optional weather warnings work?
When the National Weather Service issues one of the warnings listed, it automatically triggers a notification from WENS. There are 2 groups of notifications on the registration page. One group is sent 24 hours a day, the other time restricted group is sent from 6 am to 10 pm. If a time restricted warning is sent during the restricted time, you will receive the warning at 6 am only is the warning is still active.
The weather warnings are only meant to inform you that a warning has been issued. It is your responsibility to seek additional information regarding the warning. Using a weather radio is the best way to get the detailed warning information directly from the National Weather Service.
How do I unsubscribe?
There are 2 ways to unsubscribe:
Either of these will completely remove all your phone numbers and email addresses from the system. We recommend that you do not completely unsubscribe as you will no longer receive any emergency messages.
Will I receive duplicate calls if I am registered more then once?
No - The system is designed to eliminate duplicate notifications. Each phone number/email address will only receive one notification for each message sent regardless of how many times it is registered.
If I registered using a text message keyword, am I automatically registered for all alerts?
No, you are only registered for the alerts associated with that keyword. To receive other alerts, fill out the registration form.
I have a land line phone; do I need to register?
A 911 database was imported into WENS which contains landline phone numbers. We cannot guarantee your number was included in the data we were provided. We encourage anyone who would like to receive alerts to register in the system.
What number/email address do the alerts come from?
Alerts sent from Medina County Emergency Management Agency will originate from 69310 for text messages, 330-461-9871 for voice notifications, and MassNotification@MedinaCountyEMA.org for email alerts. Alerts sent from other agencies with originate from phone numbers and email addresses specific to their agency.
How do I receive alerts via Text and voice at the same number?
In Order to receive both text and voice alerts enter your cell phone number twice selecting the “text” option first and the “voice” option second.
